High school ministry (9-12)

magnify (every Sunday || 6:15-8:30PM)

Magnify is the flagship ministry for our high school students, the bread and butter of what we do in youth ministry for high schoolers. The purpose of these nights is to have fun, build up community, and grow faith through discipleship in challenging and engaging talks, prayer, and dedicated and intentional discipleship groups that meet every week during this time. Some nights are geared strictly towards celebration (like the annual Magnify Cup and Block Party) while others focus more on current issues of the Catholic faith or a certain faith topic. The most important component of Magnify is discipleship groups. Discipleship groups are groups of 8-12 teens of the same age and gender who meet every Sunday with 2-3 core members and walk with each other in understanding the faith. Come on out and see what makes discipleship groups so great!

Please see the calendar for more in detail information on nights upcoming and for up-to-date information.

Word and worship (every Thursday || 7-8:30PM)

Word and Worship is our weekly bible study, including reflection and discussion over the Scripture readings for Sunday. We come together, discuss, and end our time with some prayer over in the chapel in front of the Eucharist. Any high schooler is welcome to join at any time! Come see why now Archdiocese of St. Louis seminarian Zach Stehr once called this night: “the greatest night of every week”.

retreats

Throughout the year we host a variety of retreat opportunities for you to take some time off and grow closer to the Lord!

STEUBENVILLE (JULY 12-14): Every year ICD takes up to 60-100 teens to join 5,000 more at Missouri State University for a weekend of engaging talks, lively music, good prayer, and Catholic community. This weekend is a great chance to grow more in your faith and trust us when we say you will not regret signing up. Sign-ups starting in December. All current 8th graders and HS welcome!

FALL RETREAT (NOVEMBER 22-24): Winter retreat provides the opportunity to slow down, relax, and to journey deeper in relationship with God. At its best, this weekend will put you into contact with God who is already at work in your life and waiting to reveal His love. At the very least, this weekend will be a chance for you to relax, forget about the stress of homework and school, and spend some time in peace with good people. All HS Welcome! Sign-ups starting in September.

LUKE 18 (February 21-23): All high schoolers are welcome to volunteer for the LUKE 18 Confirmation retreat for our 8th grade retreatants. Contact youth.ministry@icdparish.org for more info.
